Each tube of Chilly contains: Water (Aqua), Hydrated Silica, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Calcium Carbonate, Xylitol, Menthol, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf Extract, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Benzoate, Coco-Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract.

Below we do a deep dive on each ingredient and why we use it in Chilly.

Water (Aqua): Water is an essential ingredient in toothpaste that helps to create a smooth, easy-to-spread consistency. It helps to rinse away food particles and bacteria from the mouth, leaving teeth and gums feeling clean and refreshed.

Hydrated Silica: Hydrated silica is naturally derived from silica (silicon dioxide), an abundant compaound on earth's surface. It is an abrasive that helps to remove plaque and stains from the teeth. It is gentle on tooth enamel and can help to whiten and polish the teeth.

Glycerin: Glycerin is a natural, plant-derived ingredient that helps to keep toothpaste from drying out. It also has a moisturizing effect on the mouth and can help to keep the gums healthy.

Sorbitol: Sorbitol is a naturally occuring sugar alcohol that is often used in toothpaste as a sweetener and humectant. It's found in many edible fruits, berries and vegetables. It helps to keep the toothpaste moist and can also help to prevent dry mouth.

Calcium Carbonate: Calcium carbonate is a natural ingredient that is commonly found in rocks such as chalk, limeston and marble. We use it in Chilly as a mild abrasive to safely remove plaque and polish away surface stains. It is also a good source of calcium, which is important for strong teeth and bones.

Xylitol: Xylitol is a natural sweetener that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria that can cause bad breath and tooth decay. This is because Xylitol is non-fermentable by oral plaque bacteria.

Menthol: Menthol is an aromatic compound that is derived from mint plants. It has a refreshing, cool sensation that helps to freshen breath and leave the mouth feeling clean and invigorated.

Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf Extract: Stevia is a natural sweetener that is derived from the leaves of the stevia plant. It has a low glycemic index and can be a good alternative to sugar for people who are looking to reduce their sugar intake.

Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate: Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is a salty white paste derived from the fatty acids of cocunut. It is a gentle foaming agent that helps to create a rich, lathering consistency in toothpaste. Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is a sulfate free alternative (or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate alternative). Unlike SLS it is a much more mild foaming agent and won't dry out your mouth.

Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil and Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil: Peppermint and Spearmint oil are an essential oils derived from the peppermint spearmint plants. They have refreshing, minty aromas and can help to freshen breath and invigorate the mouth. We use natural mint for flavor rather than sytheic flavors often found in legacy brand toothpaste.

Titanium Dioxide: Titanium dioxide is a natural, white pigment that we use to give Chilly Toothpaste a bright, clean appearance. It is used as an alternative to synthetic dyes. If you’re surfing around the interwebs concerned about titanium dioxide nanoparticles, please know Chilly does not contain any titanium dioxide nanoparticles, which are different than titanium dioxide.

Sodium Benzoate: Sodium benzoate is a food preservative that helps to prevent the growth of bacteria and extend the shelf life of toothpaste. It is a safe and commonly used ingredient in oral care products.

Coco-Betaine: Coco-betaine is a mild, surfactant that helps to create a rich, creamy consistency in toothpaste. It helps to clean and refresh the mouth without causing irritation.

Xanthan Gum: Xanthan gum is a natural, plant-derived ingredient that helps to thicken and stabilize toothpaste. It helps to keep the toothpaste from separating and makes it easier to spread on the teeth.

Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract: Capsicum frutescens is a plant that is native to South America and sourced from Ghost Peppers. This gives Chilly Toothpaste it's heat and has also been shown to minimize the growth of Streptococcus mutans.
